Childhood Sleep Disorders and Development Section!
Accomplishments
of the Section
In the past few years, the steering
committee has created a new format
for the APSS section meeting, with
presentation of key topics like the
consensus paper on respiratory
indications for obtaining pediatric
sleep studies which was discussed by
lead authors, and the presentation by
the first author of the best pediatric
abstract as judged by the pediatric
steering committee. We have also
provided input to the Board of
Directors and Program Commit-
tee in planning the various annual
courses and seminars at the annual
meeting with a pediatric perspective.
Several key members of the section
are on the advisory panel advising
the
DSM-5
and the
ICSD-3
commit-
tees on important aspects of pedi-
atric sleep medicine. This will have
a direct impact on the final version
of both manuals. Drs. Judith Owens
& Jodi Mindell (insomnia), Gerald
Rosen (parasomnias), David Gozal
(sleep disordered breathing), Sanjeev
Kothare (child neurology & sleep),
